Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province will host the 2024 Uljin Geumgangsong Cup National Youth Club Soccer Tournament at Baekam Multipurpose Sports Ground from June 22 to June 24, and from July 6 to July 8.
This tournament, organized by the Korea Youth Soccer Club Federation and co-hosted by the Uljin County Sports Council, Uljin County Football Association, and the Korea Youth Soccer Club Federation, will feature around 2,000 participants from 123 teams (63 teams in the first round, 60 teams in the second round). The teams will be divided into six groups by school year, competing in 6-a-side and 8-a-side matches.
It is expected that the young players will be able to fully showcase the skills they have developed through training, broadening their perspective on soccer and becoming a solid foundation for the development of Korean soccer. The county also anticipates that the visit of players and their families during the tournament will help promote Uljin and greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
County Governor Son Byeongbok stated, "This tournament is not just a one-time festival but an official national competition where true soccer rivalry can unfold. We will continue to establish this event as a local festival that everyone can enjoy, in harmony with the region's diverse tourism resources."
