Seongbuk-gu, January 20th 'Care Work, On the Value of That Work' Theme 2024 First Half Welfare Facility Workers Human Rights Education... A Healing Time for Protecting and Promoting the Human Rights of Care Welfare Workers
Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) conducted human rights education for welfare facility workers in the first half of 2024.
About 60 welfare facility workers participated in the training held on the 20th at the district art hall.
The education, under the theme "Care Work, About That Valuable Job," examined cases to identify any human rights violations experienced by welfare facility workers and explored ways to respond to potential human rights infringements that may occur during their work.
One participant said, "It was a healing education session that enhanced awareness of human rights, allowed free exchange of opinions among attendees, and shared the hardships of emotional laborers."
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, expressed his gratitude to welfare facility workers who contribute to the improvement and promotion of human rights in Seongbuk-gu, stating, "We will do our best to integrate the excellent ideas discovered through discussions and education into the district's welfare policies to provide welfare services that satisfy all residents."
The district conducts human rights education at least twice a year for workers at local welfare facilities, nursing centers, and welfare centers. Through this, it operates demand-oriented, on-site human rights education and customized programs for different groups such as the elderly and youth, dedicating great effort to enhancing human rights sensitivity across all sectors.
