"Regional Revitalization, Expected to Solve Seoul Housing Issues"
Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) and Gangwon Development Corporation have joined forces to discover candidate sites for the Seoul-Local Win-Win Circular Housing Project, "Gold City."
On the 21st, SH Corporation and Gangwon Development Corporation signed a business agreement, pledging to strengthen cooperation in discovering candidate sites and promoting development for Gold City. Gold City is a Seoul-local win-win circular city creation project that provides housing in local cities equipped with nature and urban infrastructure to Seoul citizens such as young people, international students, and retirees who wish to relocate to local areas, while the houses they own in Seoul are re-supplied to young people or newlyweds.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will join forces to discover Gold City candidate sites within Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (including Chuncheon-si, Sokcho-si, Donghae-si, Yangyang-gun, etc.), form and operate a working-level consultative body, promote the project including development plan establishment, handle permits and approvals, and participate in development projects.
SH Corporation explained that it will contribute to balanced regional development by simultaneously achieving two goals: revitalizing population-declining areas in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and solving Seoul’s housing problems.
Kim Heon-dong, President of SH Corporation, stated, “We will continue to maintain a close cooperative relationship with Gangwon Development Corporation to promote ‘Gold City’” and added, “Through ‘Gold City,’ we will contribute to improving the quality of life for Seoul citizens and Gangwon residents.”
