The KOSPI fell below the 2800 mark as both foreigners and institutions engaged in net selling.
On the 21st, the KOSPI closed at 2784.26, down 23.37 points (0.83%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions net sold 341.3 billion KRW and 29.4 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net bought 380.5 billion KRW.
By sector, electric and gas utilities dropped 3.45%, while electrical and electronics, transportation equipment, securities, and chemicals also fell more than 1%. Conversely, precision medical instruments, food and beverages, and telecommunications rose more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 80,000 KRW, down 1,600 KRW (1.96%) from the previous trading day. LG Energy Solution, Kia, and KB Financial fell more than 2%, while SK Hynix, Hyundai Motor, Celltrion, POSCO Holdings, and LG Chem declined more than 1%. On the other hand, Samsung Biologics, NAVER, and Samsung C&T showed slight gains.
On this day’s KOSPI market, 297 stocks rose, including two stocks hitting the upper price limit: GS Global and Meta Labs, while 581 stocks declined. 53 stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 852.67, down 4.84 points (0.56%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals and foreigners net bought 47.6 billion KRW and 87.5 billion KRW respectively, while institutions net sold 115.7 billion KRW.
By sector, non-metallic minerals and machinery equipment fell more than 2%. Publishing and reproduction, broadcasting services, semiconductors, transportation equipment parts, software, internet, other manufacturing, food and tobacco, construction, and textiles and apparel all declined more than 1%. Conversely, other services rose more than 2%, and metals increased by 1.08%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 186,000 KRW, down 1,500 KRW (0.80%) from the previous trading day. Alteogen rose 8.29%, while Hugel, Silicon투, Pearl Abyss, Classys, HLB, and HPSP all increased more than 1%. On the other hand, Rino Industrial and Samchundang Pharmaceutical fell more than 3%, and EcoPro and Enchem also declined more than 1%.
On this day’s KOSDAQ market, 370 stocks rose without any hitting the upper price limit, 1,200 stocks declined without any hitting the lower price limit, and 82 stocks remained unchanged.
