Gallup Survey Ranks Top Favorability for Ruling and Opposition Figures
Mayor Oh Declares "A Lifelong Commitment to Vision-Centered Politics"

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, ahead of the People Power Party leadership race, pointed out that "what meaning do pro-Yoon, anti-Yoon, and non-Yoon factions have in the ruling party?" and warned that such factionalism only leads to self-destructive outcomes. Mayor Oh has consistently shown active involvement in the political arena, ranking high in favorability surveys of future political leaders chosen by the public from both ruling and opposition parties.

On the afternoon of the 21st, Mayor Oh posted on Facebook titled 'I support this kind of party leader,' stating, "It is undesirable for the party leadership race to turn into a factional struggle," and added, "If this happens, it will only result in self-destructive outcomes like the past pro-Lee and pro-Park conflicts."

In particular, Mayor Oh described himself as "someone who has never belonged to any faction throughout his life and has pursued vision-centered politics," emphasizing, "Dignity is also important. It is necessary to have a prepared party leader who can engage in a 'vision' contest, such as 'walking with the weak,' not just in words but in how to regain the lost trust of the people." He continued, "Since we are dealing with an abnormal and aggressive Democratic Party, we need a commander who knows how to fight, but winning the fight and gaining the people's hearts is essential," adding, "Winning each battle is important, but victory in the war is necessary to recreate the administration."

Meanwhile, in a survey released by Korea Gallup for the third week of June, Mayor Oh ranked first in favorability among future political leaders chosen by the public from both ruling and opposition parties. According to the results, Mayor Oh received 36%, Cho Kuk, leader of the Innovation Party, 35%, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, 33%, Han Dong-hoon, former emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, 31%, Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, 30%, and Lee Jun-seok, member of the Reform Party, 27%. By political inclination, among conservatives, Mayor Oh and former Chairman Han each showed 56% favorability, and Mayor Hong showed 37%.
