This occurred about a month after the incident.
A company commander (captain) accused of conducting military discipline training (physical punishment) in violation of regulations related to the death of a recruit in the Army's 12th Division appeared at the pre-trial detention hearing at Chuncheon District Court in Gangwon on the morning of the 21st and is seen leaving the court. On the 21st, the Chuncheon District Court issued arrest warrants for the two individuals, who are charged with professional negligence causing death and abuse of authority involving harsh treatment, as requested by the prosecution.
Judge Shin Dong-il, in charge of the warrant, stated, "There is reasonable cause to suspect that the suspects committed the crimes as charged, and there is a risk of evidence destruction, thus the reasons and necessity for detention are recognized."
Earlier that day, at around 10:40 a.m., the court conducted a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant substantive examination) for the suspects who visited the court.
The suspects are accused of violating military discipline training regulations and failing to take appropriate measures for trainee Park, who fainted, during military discipline training conducted on six trainees at the 12th Division Recruit Training Center in Inje-gun, Gangwon Province, on the 23rd of last month, resulting in the death of trainee Park due to negligence.
