In Korea, the Yoon Isang International Music Competition was the first to join WFIMC in 2006, followed by the Seoul International Music Competition and Jeju International Wind Ensemble Competition in 2009. At this general meeting, the Daegu International Vocal Competition was also approved as a new member. The Tongyeong International Music Foundation hosted the WFIMC regular general meeting in Tongyeong in 2014, coinciding with the opening of the Tongyeong International Music Hall. Florian Leim, who was the foundation’s representative at the time, is currently serving as the Secretary-General of WFIMC.

This year, the violin category is scheduled to be held, and applications are currently being accepted.
