Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is recruiting fashion sewing trainees for the second half of 2024 at the Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center, which is operated on consignment by the Seoul Fashion Textile Sewing Association (President Yoo Ji-yong).
The recruitment fields include special equipment training for cultivating professional fashion sewing personnel and a Saturday one-day sewing class for solo entrepreneurs and job seekers, with each session limited to 10 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
The special equipment training will be held over four sessions at the shared workshop on the 2nd floor of the Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center (45 Bomunsa-gil, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul). Participants will learn how to use state-of-the-art special equipment such as welting machines, Bartec, buttonhole machines, Audramps, and automatic snap machines from experts with over 35 years of experience.
The newly established Saturday one-day sewing class for the second half of this year will be held over eight sessions at the Youth Fashion Startup Cube in Seongbuk-gu (80 Jibong-ro 20-gil, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul). This experiential course involves making practical fashion accessories such as kitchen gloves, aprons, and eco-bags. Notably, the fashion accessories made under the one-on-one guidance of fashion sewing experts will be donated to the local community welfare center, and all proceeds from sales will be used as welfare funds for vulnerable groups.
Detailed information about the training can be found on the Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center website. Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center or Seongbuk-gu Office websites, filling it out, and submitting it via email or by visiting the center in person.
The Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center stated, “The number of applicants for the youth clothing production expert course recruited in the first half of this year has been increasing every year.
