June 26 at Guro Community Center ... Handprint Taegeukgi Performance, Art Exhibition, Performance, Award Presentation
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) will hold the '74th Anniversary of the Korean War and Memorial Month' event in honor of the Month of Patriots and Veterans.
This event, themed "Living Patriotism in Daily Life, Patriotism for All," will take place on the 26th at 2 PM at the Guro-gu Community Center.
More than 300 people, including members of the Veterans Association, the Korean War Veterans Association, and other patriotic organizations, will attend this meaningful occasion together.
Before the main event, the district has prepared special side events. Starting at 1:30 PM in the yard at the entrance of the Guro-gu Community Center, attendees can create Taegeukgi flags using hand stamps, make love-for-country fans, and view exhibitions of patriotic drawings and photographs. Visitors can also take four-cut photo booth pictures using a patriotic frame.
The main program begins at 2 PM with a special security lecture for fostering security awareness in daily life during Memorial Month, followed by a pre-ceremony performance. The main event will include awarding commendations to veterans, screening a commemorative video, and a performance by a guest singer.
Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, stated, "We will never forget the noble spirit of those who devoted their bodies and minds to protect the country," and added, "We will strive to honor national veterans and promote a culture of patriotism."
This year, the district increased the veterans' welfare allowance from 50,000 won to 60,000 won and expanded support for funeral supplies in case of death, thereby enhancing welfare for national veterans. On Memorial Day, eight free shuttle buses operated between Seoul National Cemetery and Daejeon National Cemetery.
