Dobong-gu to Operate 'Wallet-Free Public Parking Lots' Starting July

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will operate a ‘Wallet-Free Public Parking Lot’ starting in July, where parking fees are automatically charged when using public parking lots.

The ‘Wallet-Free Public Parking Lot’ is a public parking lot equipped with a system that automatically charges the usage fee upon exit based on pre-registered payment information.

This eliminates the inconvenience for users who had to stop in front of the payment terminal to pay or receive discounts, and it can also prevent traffic congestion at exits.

There are a total of 14 locations operating within Dobong-gu, including Ssangmun 2-dong 5 Public Parking Lot, which is equipped with unmanned parking payment machines. Exact locations can be checked through KakaoT, Kakao Navi, and Kakao Map.

The usage method is simple. Public parking users only need to register their discount information and payment details in the KakaoT app and apply for automatic settlement.

Those eligible for parking fee discounts, such as persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, eco-friendly vehicles, compact cars, and families with multiple children, will have their fees automatically discounted and charged.

The district plans to actively introduce and operate this system in newly established public parking lots in the area going forward.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “We expect that the introduction of this system will greatly enhance the convenience of public parking lot use for residents,” and added, “We will continue to strive to improve the quality of parking services and resident satisfaction.”
