Seongdong-gu, Visiting Small Business SNS Training... Online Promotion and Marketing

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that it will conduct a ‘Visiting Small Business Owners Social Network Service (SNS) Education’ to strengthen the digital marketing capabilities of small business owners.

As mobile apps are widely used as part of daily life and the online marketing market is rapidly growing due to the increase of digital stores, the ability to utilize social network services (SNS) has become an essential requirement for small business owners.

Accordingly, Seongdong-gu will provide customized education for small business owners who find it difficult to access and utilize social network services (SNS).

This education, promoted as part of a public-private cooperation project, will be conducted by an education support team familiar with digital platforms visiting small business owners one-on-one at their stores, which they cannot leave. It offers various content and useful utilization techniques ranging from using blogs and Instagram to live commerce education.

The education support team consists of 10 local residents who are proficient in digital devices and social network services (SNS). The district plans to invite professional instructors in related fields to conduct orientation and group training for them in July.

Accordingly, by collecting opinions from last year’s education participants, a 1:1 marketing promotion education sample using social network services (YouTube, Instagram, Naver, etc.) has been prepared. The education will cover theory and practice on media introduction, promotional design, and advanced courses tailored to marketing trends.

This education targets 50 business sites operated by small business owners in the district and will recruit participants on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 24th of this month. Applications can be submitted on the Seongdong-gu Office website (Seongdong Participation - Online Application). In particular, the district plans to actively encourage participation by reflecting actual educational demand from local organizations, including representatives of merchant associations.

To ensure smooth project implementation, Seongdong-gu hired a dedicated manager last month. Regular meetings will be held with the education support team to share progress and difficulties and discuss improvements. Through continuous monitoring, indicators such as education satisfaction will also be evaluated to enhance the completeness of the project.

Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “I hope this education will help small business owners struggling with online marketing to build competitiveness,” and added, “We will continue to provide various policy supports that can offer practical help to small business owners.”
