The police have concluded a final 'no charges' decision after reviewing whether to reopen the investigation into allegations of 'false credentials' involving the daughter of former People Power Party Emergency Response Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Investigation Review Division held a police investigation review committee meeting on the afternoon of the 20th and decided not to reopen the investigation after deliberation.
Civil groups had filed an objection after a non-prosecution decision was made in December last year regarding allegations of ghostwriting of papers by the former chairman's daughter. On this day, the investigation review committee examined whether to reopen the investigation, but did not recommend reopening it to the investigation team.
Earlier, in May 2022, civil groups accused former Chairman Han and his family of ghostwriting and plagiarism of academic journal papers, filing a complaint with the police on charges including obstruction of business. After an investigation, the police issued a non-prosecution disposition in December last year, 1 year and 8 months later.
