Court: "Considering Previous Convictions for Similar Crimes"

A man in his 20s who failed to attend reserve forces training without a valid reason was ultimately sentenced to a fine.

On the 20th, Chief Judge Park Seong-min of the Chuncheon District Court Criminal Division 3 announced that he sentenced Mr. A (29), who was indicted for violating the Reserve Forces Act, to a fine of 5 million won.

Mr. A was brought to trial on charges of not attending training despite receiving a reserve forces training summons on November 3rd of last year without any reason.

Chief Judge Park explained the sentencing by stating, "Considering that he had been fined several times for similar offenses and that he pledged not to reoffend."
