Daegu City has finalized plans to create a 'Propose Lounge' at Sincheon and will actively proceed with the project. The aim is to develop a space where young couples can propose, turning it into a local tourist attraction.

On the 20th, Daegu City announced that it will invest a total of 11 billion KRW to establish the water park 'Sincheon Propose' in front of Daebak Plaza at Sincheon by early 2026. This place will be constructed in the form of a circular ring structure symbolizing a ring, the emblem of a promise, serving as a space where couples and families can pledge love and happiness.

The propose lounge, located in the upper space of the two-story structure, will feature a Love Road where couples can walk over floor lighting while enjoying the waterfront scenery and whispering love, a Propose Room for private proposals, and a Promise Zone where they can hang locks symbolizing their commitment. The lower space will house facilities selling flowers and locks needed for proposal events, and a multipurpose plaza at the center will include photo zones, multi-zones, and play zones.

Daegu City plans to make this a nationwide attraction with various spatial arrangements that provide not only proposal spots for couples but also food, sights, and entertainment for family outings.

Hong Jun-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, said, "As part of the Sincheon Forest Park development, 'Sincheon Propose' will install a water park in the city where lovers can confess their love and families can dream of happiness," adding, "We will operate unique propose programs to make it a proposal hotspot for handsome men and beautiful women nationwide."

Earlier, Mayor Hong revealed his vision to create a proposal landmark through social media. On the 7th, he posted on his Facebook, "As part of the Sincheon Forest Park development, we plan to install the Sincheon Propose Deck on the water at Sincheon so that handsome men and beautiful women can come here to propose, and once united, they will never part and live happily with their children in this urban water park."

He continued, "If you visit the Pont Neuf bridge over the Seine River in France, couples hang locks on the bridge wishing to never part and live happily forever, throwing the keys into the Seine," and said, "So, Daegu is trying to create such a proposal landmark as well." Mayor Hong added, "I hope handsome men and beautiful women from all over the country come here to make lifelong vows and live happily ever after with good memories."
