In his congratulatory remarks, Assemblyman Ahn Cheol-soo said, “Having experienced medical volunteer work in Daegu during COVID-19, I deeply felt the importance of a robust public healthcare system in a national crisis,” and added, “I look forward to Hanmiyeon’s significant role in enabling Korea’s medical system to achieve innovation and build a solid foundation.”
Assemblymen Park Soo-min, Choi Su-jin, Han Ji-a of the People Power Party, and Ahn Do-gul and Kim Yoon of the Democratic Party also stressed the necessity of future medical reform and emphasized the importance of policy promotion and the paradigm shift to digital healthcare.
Chairman Noh Yeon-hong of the Special Committee on Medical Reform, which has recently attracted great attention, also added meaning to the Hanmiyeon seminar by stating in his greeting, “We will listen closely to Hanmiyeon’s policy proposals in building Korea’s future medical system.”
In the first session of the seminar, Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, delivered a presentation titled ‘Connected Healthcare, Patient Participation, and Digital Healthcare for Data Science,’ explaining the importance of patient-centered connected healthcare in the digital healthcare field from the perspective of data science. It was agreed to establish an initial clinical support system based on patient-specific prescriptions and outcomes, and to apply this system in clinical practice to create an environment where clinicians can derive optimal personalized prescriptions for each patient.
In the closing remarks, co-representative Kang Daehee stated, “The biggest topic in the medical community recently is personalized treatment, and integration with AI can be seen as a trend of the times,” adding, “Hanmiyeon’s role is essential and meaningful in laying the foundation for future industries at a national level to ensure such systems take root.”
Hanmiyeon is known to be moving swiftly to realize the digital health support measures and physician-scientist training plans derived from the first seminar.
Hanmiyeon operating committee chairman Han Sung-joon, CEO of Evixgen and CTO of Coree&Dx&Vx, said, “Hanmiyeon operates a ‘Hanmiyeon Research Committee’ separately from regular seminars and plans to refine concrete implementation plans for the proposals derived.”
