Developing SaaS integrating science knowledge search, summary services, and mock interview AI chatbot
Dong-A Science, the only science-specialized media outlet in Korea, has been finally selected as the AI digital liberal arts textbook development and executing company in the ‘K-Cloud Project Public Sector SaaS Development and Verification (Education SaaS Track)’ promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and hosted by the National Information Society Agency (NIA).
Dong-A Science Co., Ltd. (CEO Kyung-ae Jang) will build an AI digital science liberal arts textbook as SaaS (Software as a Service) by applying AI technology based on over 60,000 digital science contents produced over the past 30 years. To this end, it opened the science knowledge platform ‘dLibrary’ by labeling the science article data from the past five years of Science Dong-A, Math Dong-A, and Children’s Science Dong-A with curriculum topics and career linkage. In addition, in January, it signed a contract with Klavi, a Naver AI Alliance partner, to build the ‘Science Dong-A AI’ service.
CEO Kyung-ae Jang of Dong-A Science stated, “Being selected as the AI digital liberal arts textbook SaaS executing company allows us to receive support until 2025 to accelerate the expansion of digital conversion of monthly generated science articles, automation of labeling, and development of ‘self-directed convergence inquiry AI service’ linked with AI technology. We will play a leading role in supporting various learning activities using AI and strengthening education on the proper use of AI.”
Through this agreement, it is expected to help learners acquire scientific literacy and enhance digital literacy by supporting scientific knowledge search tailored to the level and usage purpose of elementary and secondary students and providing AI chatbot services. Furthermore, it has obtained letters of commitment from educational institutions and non-profit foundations such as Daejeon Science High School, Hongik University Department of Mathematics Education, and the Environment Foundation.
