Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it will hold a cultural festival on the 22nd around Sadang No.1 Public Parking Lot to revitalize the local economy and create a space for coexistence and harmony among residents.
The "Sinbangtteul Local Commercial District Coexistence Parking Lot Cultural Festival" is a representative local festival named after the old name of Sadang-dong, "Sinbangtteul." It has become an event where the floating population near Sadang Station, single-person households, and family residents can enjoy together, marking its 7th year this year.
In particular, this year’s festival site, Sadang No.1 Public Parking Lot, is significant as an excellent policy site achieved through creative and challenging proactive administration to solve the parking shortage in Sadang-dong, reducing budget and construction period.
The event will be held centered on Sadang No.1 Public Parking Lot (Sadang-dong 1042-22), including nearby roads and Sadang Meeting Park area, with about 2,000 attendees including Mayor Park Il-ha, residents, and tourists. It will be divided into pre-event performances, main events, and side events.
The pre-event performances start at 4 p.m. with a resident talent show, featuring participants recently appointed as Dongjak-gu promotional ambassadors from the "KBS National Singing Contest Dongjak-gu Edition" and winners of the "2023 26th Nodeul Song Festival," showcasing the talents and passion of the residents.
Following this, the main event begins at 6 p.m. with an opening ceremony and various celebratory performances including invited singer "Park Gun," a musical gala show, and broadcast dance.
Additionally, various side events such as ▲commercial district revitalization events ▲Sadang Art Park ▲experience programs ▲and free food booths are prepared.
Especially, the "Happiness of 10,000 Won 1+1 Coupon Event" offers an additional 10,000 won coupon when purchasing a 10,000 won store experience voucher at the event, which can be used at restaurants, cafes, and other establishments in Sadang 1-dong Food Alley.
Also, "Sadang Art Park" provides artistic experience opportunities such as keyring and mother-of-pearl ring making, and various attractions targeting the 10-20 age group including drone soccer, hologram maker, Meta Quest VR, and 3D printing, allowing students from local schools, young people, and all age groups to interact and communicate together.
The district will deploy safety management personnel throughout the venue for smooth event operation and will control traffic on nearby roads including parts of Dongjak-daero 1-gil from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the day of the festival.
Mayor Park Il-ha of Dongjak-gu said, "We expect this Sadang-dong cultural festival to promote the revitalization of the local commercial district and provide an enjoyable experience for residents and visitors," adding, "We will continue to plan various local festivals to create spaces for coexistence and harmony among residents."
