3 Million Views on 'Hollywood Actor Video' Are Fake... First Time Targeting Men

Jacob Elody 'Deepfake' Video Spreads
First Time Male Celebrities Targeted

Famous Hollywood actor Jacob Elordi (26) is reportedly suffering damage due to deepfake pornographic videos that misuse his face.

On the 19th (local time), US NBC reported that deepfake pornographic videos synthesized with Elordi's facial images have been spreading through social networking services (SNS) such as X since two days ago. The cumulative views are said to have already exceeded 3 million.

The original video is said to be from a 19-year-old creator living in Brazil. He posted a video of himself filmed two years ago, but someone synthesized Elordi's face onto it. Regarding this, the creator wrote, "It was literally my video," and "Deepfakes are becoming increasingly creepy."

NBC stated, "The deepfake video contains explicit sexual scenes," and "The body shown in the video is different from Elordi's appearance." Elordi has not yet responded to NBC's request for comment.

Meanwhile, it is known that this is the first time a deepfake video has targeted a male actor. Previously, victims of deepfake pornographic videos were mainly female celebrities and actresses. In January, global star Taylor Swift became a victim of deepfake videos, raising awareness. At that time, Swift's videos also mainly spread on X.

The X management team notifies deepfake videos synthesized with real people as violations of regulations. Among 16 actual videos of Elordi, one has a tag stating "This post may violate X's regulations," and its links and sharing have been blocked. However, NBC pointed out that it still remains posted and has surpassed 23,000 views.

Deepfake is a compound word combining artificial intelligence (AI) technology called deep learning and fake. It is a synthesized video made more precisely using AI, and some deepfake videos are so sophisticated that they are easily mistaken for reality.
