'1,000 Won Happiness'... Benefits for Elderly and Disabled to Attend Sports Games Starting July The professional baseball opening game held at Suwon KT Wiz Park

Senior citizens aged 70 and over and people with disabilities residing in Gyeonggi Province will be able to enjoy all professional sports games, including soccer and baseball, held in Gyeonggi Province for 1,000 won starting July 1.

On the 20th, Gyeonggi Province announced that from July, it will expand the discount benefit of the ‘Opportunity Game Viewing Ticket’ for seniors and people with disabilities from the existing 75% support to a personal payment of 1,000 won for professional game admission fees.

Accordingly, seniors aged 70 and over in the province and one accompanying person, as well as registered people with disabilities and one accompanying person, can purchase tickets for home games of 18 professional sports teams based in Gyeonggi Province for 1,000 won each.

Previously, to realize ‘Sports Gyeonggi Province for Everyone,’ since June last year, Gyeonggi Province has supported 75% of the admission fee for home games of 18 professional sports teams in the province for seniors aged 70 and over and one accompanying person, as well as registered people with disabilities and one accompanying person.

However, this year, to improve the issue of different admission fees for each game, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Social Security Change Council, and professional teams completed the procedures for expanding benefits in April.

Namgung Woong, Director of the Sports Promotion Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "We have provided the ‘1,000 won benefit’ so that the ‘Opportunity Game Viewing Ticket,’ which is being promoted for Sports Gyeonggi Province for Everyone, can be enjoyed more widely. We will continue to do our best to ensure that all residents can enjoy sports, including prioritizing support for the installation of facilities for people with disabilities at public sports facilities such as Ansan Sangnok Sports Complex."

Meanwhile, the 18 teams include ▲Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Suwon FC, Seongnam FC, Bucheon FC 1995, Ansan Greeners FC, FC Anyang, Gimpo FC (7 soccer teams) ▲KT Wiz (1 baseball team) ▲KT Sonicboom, Goyang Sono Skygunners, KGC Ginseng Corporation, Samsung Life Blueminx, Hana One Q (5 basketball teams) ▲Korea Electric Power Big Storm, KB Insurance Stars, OK Financial Group Outmen, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate, IBK Industrial Bank Altos (5 volleyball teams).
