Se-ri Pak, Co-recipient of the Banpleat Award for Contributions to Korea-US Relations

'Golf Legend' Park Seri, Chairperson of the Park Seri Hope Foundation, will receive the 'Van Fleet Award' for her contributions to the development of Korea-US relations.

The Korea Society, a Korea-US friendship nonprofit organization, announced on the 19th (local time) that Chairperson Park has been additionally selected as this year's recipient of the Van Fleet Award. The Van Fleet Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the Korea-US field, is given annually by the Korea Society to individuals or organizations that have contributed to Korea-US relations.

The Korea Society explained the reason for selecting Chairperson Park as "contributing to strengthening the bond between the United States and Korea through sports."

Accordingly, Chairperson Park will jointly receive the 2024 Van Fleet Award with Yoon Yoon-su, Chairman of Fila Holdings, who was previously selected as a recipient. Chairman Yoon was also recognized for his contributions to economic ties between Korea and the US by playing a leading role in establishing and advising the Korea-US Alliance Foundation (KUSAF) and the Korean Defense Veterans Association (KDVA).

The Van Fleet Award was established in 1995 to honor General James Van Fleet, who participated in the Korean War as commander of the US Eighth Army and founded the Korea Society in 1957. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 30 at the Plaza Hotel in New York, USA.
