Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) commended exemplary residents who have led local development and community harmony on the 19th.
At 2 p.m. on the same day, more than 40 residents who devoted themselves to helping neighbors in need from various parts of the district attended the ‘Exemplary and Good Deeds Residents Commendation Ceremony’ held in the district office’s main conference room.
During the ceremony, commendations were awarded to 41 local residents and 2 groups.
The district awarded commendations to 41 residents who worked hard to improve community welfare, including ▲ quarantine activities for infectious disease prevention and ▲ providing side dishes to neighbors in need.
The groups selected were Hwaseong Church in Hwagokbon-dong and the Hope Dream Team of Deungchon 3-dong.
Hwaseong Church was recognized for contributing to the spread of a sharing culture by providing scholarships to students from low-income families and conducting kimchi-making sharing activities.
Also, the Hope Dream Team of Deungchon 3-dong was selected for their contribution to resolving welfare blind spots through supporting outdoor activities for the elderly and visiting vulnerable households.
District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “Thanks to the residents who dedicate themselves to helping neighbors in need throughout the community, a warm-hearted society is being maintained,” and added, “I express my deep gratitude to the residents who work hard for ‘A Future Together, Sharing Gangseo.’”
