On the 19th (local time), Russian news agency TASS quoted Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov as saying that President Putin presented an Aurus limousine, a tea set, and a naval general's dagger as gifts.
The Aurus is a Russian-made luxury limousine, and President Putin had previously gifted this car to Chairman Kim in February. At that time, there were concerns that this violated the United Nations (UN) sanctions resolutions against North Korea.
President Putin is known to have received various artworks as gifts from North Korea.
On the day of his visit, President Putin held a summit with Chairman Kim. The two leaders also signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which will serve as the foundation for long-term North Korea-Russia relations.
This is President Putin's first visit to North Korea in 24 years, since July 2000.
