Former KT CEO Koo Hyun-mo, who was indicted for so-called 'split donations' to members of the National Assembly using corporate funds, was sentenced to a fine of 7 million won in the appellate court. The embezzlement charge, for which a fine was imposed in the first trial, was overturned and acquitted in the appeal.
The Seoul Central District Court Criminal Appeal Division 5-2 (Presiding Judges Kim Yong-jung, Kim Ji-sun, and So Byung-jin) sentenced former CEO Koo to a fine of 7 million won on the charge of violating the Political Funds Act on the 19th. The part concerning the embezzlement charge, for which a fine of 3 million won was imposed in the first trial, was overturned and acquitted.
