A Snack Brand That Easily Cares for Health in a Unique Way
Launch of 5 New Functional Ingredient Chocolates
Daesang announced on the 20th that it has launched the health snack brand 'Pikitaka,' focusing on the 'Healthy Pleasure' trend where consumers enjoy managing their health and the high interest in functional food labeling.
'Pikitaka' is a combination of the English word 'Picky,' meaning selective, and the Spanish word 'Tiki-taka,' which refers to a short and concise pass or a natural, flowing conversation. It signifies a brand that modern consumers, who are more selective about health than anyone else, can trust and enjoy anytime, anywhere without worry.
Previously, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety introduced the 'General Food Functional Labeling System' in December 2020, allowing products to display functional claims if they contain 29 types of ingredients or components with sufficient scientific evidence or used in health functional foods.
The new products launched with the brand include five types of chocolates: Almond Caramel Choco, Almond Berry Choco, Cashew Nut Milk Choco, Macadamia Yogurt Choco, and Almond Mint Choco. All use Belgian chocolate and premium nuts that complement each flavor. The company explained that the products are designed as handy foods that can be easily enjoyed with one hand, allowing consumers to conveniently and easily consume the functional ingredients contained in the products. The five Pikitaka chocolates are available through Cacao Makers and KakaoTalk Gift.
Kim Jong-wook, Team Leader of Daesang's Marketing Office, said, "Reflecting the changed eating habits of modern people and the latest health trends, we have launched the functional food labeling brand Pikitaka, which allows busy people to conveniently and deliciously take care of their health." He added, "We will continue to introduce various products containing functional ingredients to present Pikitaka's unique convenient and appealing foods."
