Sacheon City Holds Meeting with National Assembly Member Seo Cheonho to Address Current Issues On the 18th, Sacheon City held a "Meeting with National Assembly Member Seo Chunho" at the open mayor's office in the city hall, requesting cooperation for the smooth promotion of ongoing projects and securing special treasury allocations for the first half of 2024.

On this day, Mayor Park congratulated the opening of the 22nd National Assembly and expressed his gratitude to Assembly Member Seo Chunho for introducing the first bill, the Special Act on the Construction and Development of the Aerospace Complex City.

In particular, Mayor Park requested special attention and support from Assembly Member Seo Chunho for five key projects that would elevate Sacheon's status as the capital of aerospace and dramatically improve its residential conditions.

The proposals included the successful establishment of the Korea Aerospace Administration, the construction of an aerospace complex city to become a global aerospace powerhouse, the expansion of Sacheon Airport aiming for international airport status, and the establishment of a new national railway line for the Sacheon Aerospace Line following the exclusion from the southern inland railway route.

Additionally, proposals were made to extend the starting point of the Hapcheon-Jincheon Expressway (South-North Axis 6) to Samcheonpo Port to improve accessibility to the Korea Aerospace Administration and revitalize the region, as well as to increase the number of routes for Sacheon Airport and KTX (SRT) trains.

Joint efforts to secure special grants for the first half of 2024 were also requested.

The main proposed projects include: ▲Construction of an eco-friendly fisheries guidance vessel (2 billion KRW) ▲Installation of pedestrian safety facilities on Sacheon River (1 billion KRW) ▲Remodeling of restrooms at Yonggung Pocha Village (300 million KRW) ▲Maintenance of retaining walls at Yonghyeon Sin Reservoir (500 million KRW), totaling 4.4 billion KRW.

Mayor Park stated, "For the Korea Aerospace Administration (KAA) to be on the right track and for Korea to rise to the global top 5 in aerospace, I kindly ask for Assembly Member Seo Chunho's strong support so that the aerospace complex city can be developed into a future city with world-class competitiveness."

Assembly Member Seo Chunho said, "Although the Korea Aerospace Administration has been established, the technology gap with advanced countries is at least 10 years, so it is essential to create an aerospace complex city with global competitiveness. That is why I proposed the Special Act on the Construction and Development of the Aerospace Complex City."

He added, "I will do my best to ensure the smooth progress of other key projects and to secure special grants."
