'Made in Icheon' is a regional origin labeling policy for high-quality products whose main ingredients are domestically sourced, including the city's agricultural specialties, social enterprise products, and products manufactured by local companies. It was promoted to increase sales of local agricultural specialties and to effectively promote the region.
Previously, the Icheon City King’s Mark Icheon Brand Management Headquarters recommended the use of the 'Made in Icheon' label on 15 products from 13 companies using the 'King’s Mark Icheon' intellectual property rights. They also negotiated with local agricultural cooperatives and Hanaro Mart in Icheon City to install dedicated 'Made in Icheon' sales stands and proceeded with the procedures for issuing product codes.
On the 19th, the headquarters installed a dedicated 'Made in Icheon' sales stand at Icheon Nonghyup Hanaro Mart and plans to expand this to all 10 Nonghyup Hanaro Marts in the area. Additionally, they are in discussions with Korail Distribution to install dedicated sales stands at major metropolitan train and subway stations, including Icheon Station on the Gyeonggang Line.
Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, said, "We will strive to make 'Made in Icheon' a highly popular urban brand that promotes Icheon City not only domestically but also globally through an active branding strategy."
