WYSIWYG Studio "Broadway Musical 'The Great Gatsby' Wins Tony Award for Best Costume Design"

The Broadway musical "The Great Gatsby" by Odi Company, invested in by the comprehensive media content production group Wysiwyg Studios, won the Costume Design Award in the musical category at the 77th Tony Awards held at the Lincoln Center in New York, the company announced on the 19th. This is the first time a musical with a sole Korean lead producer has received a Tony Award.

This award is an extraordinary achievement for K-musicals, recognized as one of the four major trophies in American popular culture collectively known as "EGOT (Emmy-Grammy-Oscar-Tony)." "The Great Gatsby" became the first K-musical to win a Tony Award. Following its win for "Outstanding Set Design" at the 68th Drama Desk Awards held on the 10th, this is another remarkable accomplishment for producer Shin Chunsu's "K-musical."

Odi Company's "The Great Gatsby" premiered at the Broadway Theatre in New York on April 25. It achieved box office success by surpassing $1.28 million (approximately 1.766 billion KRW) in weekly sales within three weeks and maintained weekly sales exceeding $1 million for nine consecutive weeks. With a seat occupancy rate of 90% per performance, the originally scheduled run until November is planned to be extended until next spring.

Wysiwyg has been expanding its new business by investing in performance, musical, and exhibition projects in addition to its existing CG and VFX businesses and film and drama production. It has also produced the tvN drama "Crash Landing on You" as a musical. The investment in this "The Great Gatsby" musical was made based on continuous collaboration with Odi Company and the judgment that the work had a high chance of success.

Wysiwyg has partnered with Odi Company to secure investment opportunities over the next five years in popular Odi Company productions, including "Jekyll & Hyde," scheduled for the second half of this year, and plans to continuously participate in performance and exhibition projects.

A Wysiwyg representative said, "Through our long-standing relationship with Odi Company, Wysiwyg Studios was able to participate in projects that bring K-musicals to the global market. We will continue to invest in Odi Company's killer content as a strategic partner, striving to create synergy between the two companies and strengthen our new media content business."
