Hoban Construction checks the health status of site workers and supports hospital examinations and other medical services.

This inspection was carried out in accordance with the special response guidelines for heatwave and heavy rain safety management issued by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Hoban Construction meticulously reviewed the working environment of on-site workers, rest areas, compliance with break times, and management plans for each site during the hot season.

Reflecting the opinions of on-site workers, the company expanded the installation of sunshades in workspaces without shade to improve the working environment. The sunshades block direct sunlight and prevent the rise of ground temperature.

Rest areas and ice machines were provided to allow workers to take breaks easily. Hoban Construction mandates 10 to 15 minutes of rest during daytime hours in the hot season and is actively engaged in “outreach heat illness prevention activities” by providing ice water, snacks, and beverages.

At each site, workers’ body temperature and blood pressure are measured to monitor their health, and hospital checkups are supported. Recently, emergency rescue drills were also conducted to prepare for suffocation accidents in confined spaces, which frequently occur during the hot season.

In preparation for the upcoming rainy season, Hoban Construction checked flood control plans and equipment operation methods for each site. During heavy rain, risks such as electric shock or collapse may occur due to water accumulation and increased earth pressure, so potential hazards were carefully examined.

Hoban Construction conducts monthly site inspections by the CEO and has strengthened safety management by additionally supporting emotional safety activity funds starting this month.

A representative from Hoban Construction’s Safety and Health Team stated, “In preparation for an earlier-than-usual heatwave, we installed sunshades reflecting workers’ opinions and expanded comfortable rest facilities to prevent heat-related illnesses. We will continue to prioritize workers’ safety and health and improve the working environment.”
