Jang Dong-hyuk "Han Dong-hoon to run on weekend or early next week... Considering location"

Criticism of 'Eodaehan' Behavior as "Insult to Party Members"
Jung Sung-guk: "I Cannot Agree with 'It's Difficult Because I'm Outside the Party'"

Jang Dong-hyuk, the senior floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, said that Han Dong-hoon, former emergency committee member of the People Power Party, is expected to announce his candidacy for the party leadership election either this weekend or early next week.

On the morning of the 19th, Jang appeared on SBS Radio and said, "(The declaration of candidacy) is also a message, so the location is being carefully considered, and it seems that various timings and messages are being deliberated."

When asked about the direction in which the message should be conveyed, he replied, "I think it should include some response to the attacks currently being made against former committee member Han," adding, "It should also include at least some answers to concerns about how the party will be changed."

Regarding comments by pro-Yoon faction lawmakers Lee Cheol-gyu and Cho Jeong-hoon, who said respectively, "Eodaehan (Anyway, the party leader will be Han Dong-hoon) is an insult to party members," and "Those who create the public opinion of Eodaehan are engaging in the relevant acts," Jang retorted, "When former committee member Han runs as a candidate in the party leadership election, it seems like an insult to party members who support him." Jang emphasized, "There is no one creating the Eodaehan trend," and added, "If the phenomenon of party members' hearts coming together is considered the relevant act, then all party members voting for former committee member Han should be disciplined for the same act."

Pro-Han faction lawmaker Jeong Seong-guk also criticized the notion that former committee member Han is unsuitable for the party leader position because he is an outsider, during an appearance on YTN Radio that day. He said, "The position of floor leader is well established, so the floor leader leads and plans activities within the floor," adding, "However, the party leader position is one that oversees all party members, including out-of-parliament party branch chiefs and all party constituents." He continued, "It is clearly different from the floor leader position representing 108 members of the National Assembly," and emphasized, "Since the party leader deals with the public and party members, and the floor leader deals with lawmakers, it is hard to agree with the view that it is difficult for former committee member Han to be party leader because he is an outsider."
