Expansion of Salgoti Public Parking Lot from 102 to 203 Spaces, Installation of Prepayment Machines and New CCTV, Entrance Environment Improvement... Operation Starts from the 22nd to Coincide with Salgoti Water Playground Opening, 24-Hour Parking at 600 KRW per Hour
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) has significantly expanded the Salgoti public parking lot from the existing 102 spaces to 203 spaces and will begin operation from the 22nd of this month, coinciding with the opening of the Salgoti Water Playground.
The newly improved Salgoti public parking lot has completed facility upgrades including night lighting, CCTV, and pre-payment machines, along with environmental improvements at the parking lot entrance such as repainting the parking booths.
On the 20th and 21st, it will operate temporarily for free, and from the 22nd, it will officially open. Starting on the 22nd, it will operate as a 24-hour hourly parking lot with an affordable parking fee of 600 KRW per hour and over 100 additional parking spaces, which is expected to greatly alleviate parking difficulties for users of Salgoti Sports Park and residents of Sageun-dong.
In particular, during the operation period of the ‘Salgoti Water Playground,’ two parking attendants will be assigned on weekends to carefully manage the parking lot, which can become congested, ensuring that residents can use it safely and conveniently. The ‘Salgoti Water Playground’ will start weekend operations from the 22nd (6/22-23, 29-30) and will operate from July 6 to August 25. It will be closed every Monday.
The district plans to create a temporary public parking lot with a total of 70 parking spaces on the site of the food alley where unauthorized facilities were relocated after a fire in the second half of this year. Construction is currently underway with the goal of opening in October, and it is expected to greatly help revitalize the traditional market, which has a large floating population and lacks parking spaces.
Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, “We will continue to make efforts to expand and improve public parking lots, especially in areas with severe parking difficulties, so that residents’ parking inconveniences can be resolved.”
