Lee Jae-kyung, a member of the Daejeon City Council (People Power Party, Seo-gu 3), has declared his candidacy for the chairperson of the 9th Daejeon City Council's second half term.
Currently serving as the Chair of the Administrative Autonomy Committee, Councilor Lee held a press conference at the Daejeon City Council press room on the 18th, stating, "I will devote all my efforts to creating a capable and strong 9th council where experience and youthful vigor coexist, for the development of Daejeon."
He emphasized that his differentiated advantage lies in having accumulated ample knowledge and experience in both the council and administration over 30 years, including roles as a policy advisor to members of the National Assembly, working at the Seoul City Council Secretariat, and positions at a domestic sewage treatment plant and an export-import center.
Although he is from the same party as the executive branch, Councilor Lee promised that for the development of Daejeon, he will go beyond cooperation to actively support areas where broad cooperation is needed, while faithfully performing the council’s key roles of checking and monitoring when issues arise.
Councilor Lee Jae-kyung stated, "As someone who has lived a lifetime loving the Republic of Korea’s liberal democracy and free market economy," he emphasized, "I will become a flame that devotes all my energy to the development of Daejeon through completing a powerful council and presenting innovation and alternatives."
