Consumer Group "Condemns Medical Sector Strike... Will Launch Boycott of Participating Hospitals"

The Korea Consumer Organization Council issued a statement on the 18th regarding the medical community's collective action, announcing that they will "disclose the names of hospitals and clinics that ignored patients and participated in the strike, and carry out a boycott campaign to refuse their services."

On the same day, the Korean Medical Association (KMA) held a large-scale rally in Yeouido, Seoul, demanding three key points: reconsideration of the medical school quota increase plan, immediate retroactive cancellation of all administrative orders and sanctions related to residents and medical students.

The Consumer Organization Council condemned the situation, stating, "A situation threatening human dignity is occurring at the expense of the lives of the people and patients."

They continued, "The medical community must immediately withdraw the strike and return to the side of the patients," and urged, "The government should implement thorough policies to fill the medical gap and promote medical reform centered on healthcare consumers."
