Gwangjin-gu Increases Support for Youth Language and Certification Exam Fees from 100,000 to 150,000 Won

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will increase the language and certification exam application support fund from 100,000 KRW to 150,000 KRW starting June this year to alleviate the economic burden on youth and support their job search activities.

This reflects the reality of rising language exam fees and the fact that young people repeatedly take language and certification exams to obtain qualifications.

The support target is young people aged 19 to 39 who have been registered residents of Gwangjin-gu for more than one month. Those who take ▲various language exams ▲Korean History Proficiency Test ▲certification exams under the Enforcement Rules of the National Technical Qualifications Act this year can receive reimbursement within the support amount without limit on the number of times. Additionally, with the expansion of the support scale, youths who have already received the full 100,000 KRW can apply for an additional amount of 50,000 KRW.

The application period is from the 1st to the 20th of each month, and on the 25th of each month, recipients are selected and the exam fees are deposited into their personal accounts. Priority support is given to basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups.

Youth wishing to apply should prepare the necessary documents such as the application form, exam confirmation, and receipt, and submit them via email to the person in charge, visit the Gwangjin-gu Office Job and Youth Division, or apply online (Naver Form).

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We are increasing the language and certification exam application fees to provide practical support for young people in their job search activities. We will continue to actively discover useful and practical youth policies to help our youth plan a happy future.”
