3 People Detained, 2 People Sent to Prosecution Without Detention

Men in their 20s who gang-raped a drunken woman and illegally filmed the incident have been handed over to the prosecution.


On the 18th, the Vice Control Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that five people, including A (21), an employee at an entertainment establishment, were sent to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on charges of special rape under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act and illegal filming using a camera. Among them, three were transferred to the prosecution while in custody.

According to the police, A and his group are accused of sequentially raping a woman who was too intoxicated to control her body on the 13th of last month and filming the incident with a mobile phone.


Earlier, three people including A were caught on the 17th of last month for distributing entertainment establishment flyers containing provocative phrases, and during the police investigation, the fact of the sexual assault was additionally revealed. A and B (23) are also accused of distributing illegal flyers again around Gangnam Station despite police crackdowns.


Since last month, the police have been conducting joint crackdowns on illegal flyers with Gangnam and Seocho District Offices, and they are currently investigating three printing shops that were additionally identified distributing illegal flyers in the Gangnam area.
