In an era where malware can be created with AI, the global cybersecurity specialist company 'Palo Alto Networks' has proposed countermeasures. In short, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Cyber attacks by AI must be countered with AI. On the 18th, Park Sang-gyu, CEO of Palo Alto Korea (pictured), held a press conference at the Korean branch office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and unveiled the cybersecurity platform 'Precision AI' that incorporates AI technology.

He said, "We have been providing solutions embedded with AI technologies such as machine learning and deep learning to our customers for over 10 years. This time, we are introducing an upgraded version of Precision AI that incorporates generative AI."

Palo Alto Networks, established in the United States in 2005, is a cybersecurity specialist company. It is the number one company in the network firewall sector, with over 85,000 customers in more than 150 countries. Its market capitalization is approximately $100 billion (about 138 trillion KRW).

AI-Based Platform Enhancing Efficiency

The cybersecurity market is divided into pre- and post-COVID-19 pandemic periods. Since the pandemic, with the rise of telecommuting and remote work, security breaches in companies that were unprepared have become common. Security risks also increase during the process of transferring data within companies to cloud servers, following the digital transformation (DX) trend.

CEO Park stated, "Our goal is to take responsibility for cybersecurity risks so that customers can focus on their core business. We aim to be a cybersecurity partner and business companion."

Precision AI is an upgraded version of Palo Alto Networks' existing security platforms?Strata (network), Prisma (cloud), and Cortex (security operations services)?with enhanced AI capabilities. It allows security tasks to be controlled in conversational language as if talking to a person. Based on abundant data, it not only prevents and detects cyber attacks but also helps respond agilely.

Park said, "Typically, a company uses more than 40 security solutions, which results in low cost-effectiveness. With Precision AI, which platforms security solutions, costs can be reduced and efficiency increased."

"Recruiting Top Talent... Expanding Social Contribution"

With the launch of Precision AI, Palo Alto Networks' push into the Korean market is expected to intensify.

First, organizational restructuring is underway focusing on target customers and industries. The company plans to expand its customer base across large corporations, public institutions, and small and medium enterprises, and assign specialized dedicated personnel for industries such as finance, manufacturing, and distribution. In November, a large-scale cybersecurity conference will be held, and social contribution activities such as collaboration with universities will be increased.

Along with efforts to recruit excellent domestic cybersecurity talent, the company is also focusing on securing partners. CEO Park said, "Engineers who join will undergo a four-week overseas training program at the U.S. headquarters and Singapore," adding, "We will diversify programs so that partner companies working on the front lines can gain more benefits."

He emphasized, "We will establish a system responsible for the entire customer lifecycle," and added, "We want customers to recognize Palo Alto Networks not just as a cybersecurity supplier but as a true partner in AI and cloud transformation."
