Socar announced on the 18th that its corporate customized mobility solution, 'Socar Business,' has surpassed 32,000 cumulative client companies five years after its launch.

According to Socar, Socar Business, which was first introduced to corporate clients in 2019, recorded an average annual sales growth rate of 70.6% over the past three years. Socar Business offers a variety of services to meet diverse corporate needs, ranging from corporate-exclusive car-sharing available in 10-minute increments to long-term rentals of used and new cars on a monthly or yearly basis. It also provides 'Socar FMS,' which allows companies to easily reserve and use their corporate-owned vehicles via mobile, just like Socar.

Among all client companies, 80% had fewer than 100 employees. This was followed by companies with 100?500 employees at 8%, 500?1,000 employees at 5%, and over 1,000 employees at 7%.

In terms of reservation share, companies with over 1,000 employees accounted for the largest portion. It was found that about 36% of all Socar Business reservations last year were made by employees of mid-sized or large corporations with more than 1,000 employees.

Since Socar Business is a service exclusively for corporate employees, its user age group differed from the general user base. While the average age of Socar users is 32.9 years, Socar Business users averaged 38.9 years, which is 6 years older. Although users in their 30s made up the largest share in both cases, Socar Business had 12% and 8% more users in their 30s and 40s respectively, and 7% fewer users in their 20s.

The service usage areas were mainly business districts in the Seoul metropolitan area where offices are concentrated. In Seoul, usage was high in business districts such as Gangnam, Seocho, Mapo, Songpa, and Yeongdeungpo, while in Gyeonggi Province, the Bundang area, where Pangyo is located, had a large share of usage.

Outside the metropolitan area, Socar usage was active around KTX stations such as Busan Station, Dongdaegu Station, Ulsan Station, Gwangju Songjeong Station, Cheonan Asan Station, and Osong Station. The Jeju region ranked high due to companies offering Socar Business benefits as part of employee welfare beyond work purposes.

Jo Eun-jung, head of Socar’s Enterprise Group, said, "Socar Business can solve not only costs such as maintenance, parking, and management fees but also inefficiencies and inconveniences experienced by employees who need to travel for work all at once. We will strive to provide customized solutions for each company based on the operational know-how and infrastructure we have built over 13 years."

Meanwhile, to celebrate surpassing 30,000 client companies, Socar Business will hold an event for office workers until the 22nd of next month. By registering a business profile in the application, users can receive three types of rental discount coupons: 60% off on weekdays, 40% off on weekends and holidays, and 8,000 KRW for 16 hours of late-night weekday rentals.
