Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park, a major flagship project of Gijang-gun in Busan, held its opening ceremony on the 16th and has begun trial operations.
Jeong Jongbok County Governor (4th from right) and Jeong Dongman Member of the National Assembly (5th from right) attended the opening ceremony of 'Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park'.
The opening ceremony was attended by Gijang-gun Mayor Jeong Jongbok, National Assembly member Jeong Dongman, members of the Busan Metropolitan Council and Gijang County Council, and various organization representatives. The event featured a ribbon-cutting and a kickoff event, with all participants celebrating the long-awaited opening of Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park for local residents.
In particular, the first event held in conjunction with the opening ceremony was the "Jeonggwan-eup Residents Sports Festival and Grand Celebration," making it a more meaningful occasion shared with the local community.
Completed in June this year, Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park is a comprehensive sports park built on a site of approximately 33,000 square meters, with Gijang-gun investing a total of about 26.6 billion KRW in the project.
The park is equipped with a multi-purpose stadium (soccer field and running track), a park golf course (six holes), a parking lot, an administration building (with showers), and spectator seating for 1,980 people. Together with the adjacent Jeonggwan Aqua Dream Park, it is expected to serve as a sports healing space for local residents and as a new landmark for the county.
Mayor Jeong Jongbok stated, "Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park will serve as a hub where local residents can heal both body and mind through sports activities, and as a venue for communication and unity through various sports events and gatherings. We will continue to expand community sports facilities to broaden the base of everyday sports and improve the quality of life for our residents."
Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park will undergo a trial operation period until July and is scheduled to begin full operations in August. The county is accelerating final preparations, including signing a consignment agreement with the Gijang Urban Management Corporation for the park's operation.
