The police are conducting the first investigation of the accused in relation to the entertainment agency HYBE filing a complaint against Min Hee-jin, CEO of its subsidiary ADORE, on charges of breach of trust in the course of business.
On the afternoon of the 17th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that they had summoned and were investigating a representative from ADORE, the accused party.
At a regular press briefing on the morning of the same day, Cho Ji-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated, "The complainant submitted additional materials last week. The analysis of these materials has been largely completed, and we plan to summon and investigate the accused starting this week." He added, "Among the three accused, CEO Min's summons has not been scheduled for this week, but one of the other two is expected to appear this week."
HYBE claims that CEO Min devised a plan to seize management rights of ADORE, constituting breach of trust in the course of business, and that they have secured specific witness statements and physical evidence supporting this. On the other hand, CEO Min's side argues that due to the shareholding structure, a takeover of management rights is impossible, and that there is no fact of attempting or executing acts that damage the company's value, thus denying any breach of trust.
CEO Min is maintaining her position after a provisional injunction she filed to block HYBE's exercise of voting rights at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting was granted by the court on the 30th of last month.
