A man who was leaving the entrance of his apartment died after being struck by another man who jumped from an upper floor. The man who jumped from the apartment also died.
According to the Sasang Police Station in Busan on the 17th, around 7 a.m. on the 15th, a man in his 50s, identified as A, jumped from an apartment in Sasang-gu and fell onto an 80-year-old man, identified as B, who was leaving the entrance.
As a result of the accident, A died at the scene, and B, who was seriously injured and transported to the hospital, ultimately passed away on the 16th while receiving treatment. No suicide note was found at the scene, but it is reported that A had been struggling with chronic illness and other difficulties.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident based on witness statements, but since A is deceased, the case will be closed without prosecution.
B's family is expressing pain and distress over the sudden and unexpected accident. The police are reportedly considering an application for crime victim protection and support for B's family.
