Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 17th that it held an unveiling ceremony for a landscape sculpture symbolizing the "World Heritage City Gochang" at Jeha Intersection in Heungdeok-myeon.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Shim Deok-seop, the governor of Gochang-gun, Im Jeong-ho, chairman of the Gochang County Council, county council members, Kim Man-gi and Kim Seong-su, members of the Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Provincial Council, heads of institutions and social organizations in Heungdeok-myeon, and about 300 local residents.

The landscape sculpture symbolizing the county was installed at Jeha Intersection, a major entrance to Gochang.
It was installed so that all vehicles entering Gochang from Jeongeup, Buan, and other areas face the landscape sculpture, promoting Gochang as a World Heritage City.
The landscape sculpture was designed to harmonize with the surrounding scenery, featuring Gochang's major tourist resources such as dolmens, tidal flats, the World Geopark, the entire biosphere reserve area, and Gochang Eupseong Fortress.
Additionally, models of the horned gull, conch, and clam, which can be found in the Gochang tidal flats, were attached to the lower part of the sculpture, conveying the message, "Now that you have entered Gochang, you can enjoy the best scenery unlike anything you have seen before."
Landscape lighting was installed so that the sculpture can be viewed at night as well.
Governor Shim Deok-seop said, "If we install and brand the best image that holds seven world treasures recognized by UNESCO at the gateway, visitors to Gochang will have a new experience upon their first encounter with Gochang."
He added, "I hope it will be loved as a promotional resource that can inform people about Gochang-gun's identity and historical culture."
