Standardized Passenger Fare Payment and Settlement System Enrollment for the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy
T'way Air is integrating its payment settlement system between airlines and travel agencies in the UK and four major European countries. This move aims to expand sales channels within Europe and strengthen market penetration.
On the 17th, T'way Air announced that it completed BSP membership in five countries?France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the UK?as of last month.
BSP is a standardized airline passenger sales settlement system provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Airlines and agencies (travel agencies) that are BSP members can collectively settle international passenger fares through a designated clearing bank. This ensures transactions are conducted more safely and efficiently. Currently, over 370 airlines in more than 180 countries worldwide have joined BSP.
Through this, T'way Air plans to accelerate its European market strategy. In May, T'way Air launched the Incheon?Zagreb (Croatia) route. It is preparing to expand its European routes to Barcelona (Spain), Rome (Italy), Paris (France), and Frankfurt (Germany). The airline intends to pursue BSP membership not only in countries where it plans to operate but also in neighboring European countries to broaden its sales reach across Europe.
A T'way Air representative said, "Joining BSP in Europe is an important milestone for our entry into the European market and part of our efforts to offer customers the option of choosing 'T'way Air' based on safe operations. We will do our best to enhance customer satisfaction and secure competitiveness in the European market through future route expansions and service improvements."
