Metaverse specialist developer One Universe announced on the 17th that it will intensify game development using its local studio in Vietnam.
One Universe is currently servicing its self-developed Web3 game ‘Champions Arena’ and is preparing its next title based on a famous Japanese intellectual property (IP) centered around the Vietnam studio. To this end, key Korean development leaders and core developers have been dispatched locally over the past year to adapt and prepare for work, and the development team is being smoothly expanded through local recruitment.
Kim Do-kyung, Chief Product Officer (CPO) of One Universe and head of the Vietnam local graphics and development studio, said, “Since last year, the efforts to develop games locally in Vietnam based on solid graphic resource production capabilities are showing results,” adding, “We will gradually expand the ‘VN Studio’ in Ho Chi Minh City, where about 40 development personnel are currently active, and nurture it into a studio with core development capabilities of One Universe.”
One Universe currently operates an active game graphic resource production business with about 250 local employees at the VN Studio located in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Its major clients include leading domestic game companies such as Nexon, Krafton, Netmarble, Neowiz, Shift Up, as well as prominent overseas game companies like NetEase, Square Enix, and Embracer Group.
Recently, it has gained recognition by participating in major projects such as Neowiz subsidiary Round8’s ‘Blood Falsehood’ and Shift Up’s ‘Stella Blade,’ which are global hit titles. Based on this experience, it is now embarking on full-scale game development leveraging local infrastructure and know-how in Vietnam.
Go Se-jun, CEO of One Universe, said, “As the success story of One Universe in Vietnam becomes known, many game companies have been inquiring to create collaboration cases in the development field,” adding, “We will actively support at the company level to establish ourselves as a leading development studio in Vietnam based on local operational know-how.”
