KB Securities announced on the 17th that it conducted the 'Happy Ttukttak Rural Medical Volunteer Service,' providing medical services with professional medical staff for elderly residents in rural areas who have difficulty visiting hospitals, unlike those in cities.
This Happy Ttukttak Rural Medical Volunteer Service took place on the 16th in Gokseong-eup, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, with about 40 participants including KB Securities employees, volunteer medical staff from the Open Medical Association, and related personnel.
On that day, volunteers gathered at the Gokseong Cultural and Sports Center and provided comprehensive medical services such as internal medicine, dentistry, and Korean medicine to approximately 150 elderly residents of Gokseong-eup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They also distributed simple medicines like patches and nutritional supplements, as well as souvenirs, to the treated elderly.
The Happy Ttukttak Rural Medical Volunteer Service, initiated by KB Securities last year, is a social contribution project aimed at bridging the medical gap between urban and rural areas. Activity locations are selected considering medical welfare and population status, and the service is conducted jointly with the Open Medical Association and professional medical staff to provide safer and more specialized medical services.
KB Securities visited rural areas in Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do twice last year, providing free medical support to about 240 elderly people. This year, starting with Miryang, Gyeongnam in April, followed by Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do in May, Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk, and Gokseong-gun, Jeonnam in June, KB Securities has conducted a total of four medical volunteer activities, offering free medical services to approximately 450 elderly residents.
Seonghyun Kim and Honggu Lee, CEOs of KB Securities, stated, "KB Securities strives to become a company that grows together with local communities through continuous social contribution activities," adding, "We will continue various social contribution activities to reach out to those in need of warm support."
KB Securities carries out various social contribution activities to practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-centered sustainable management. The company has been running the 'Rainbow Classroom,' which improves educational and play environments for children domestically and internationally, for 16 years. It also sponsors the 'Baemin Vacation Lunchbox' project for children at risk of food insecurity during summer and winter vacations. Additionally, KB Securities promotes various social contribution projects such as the 'Happy Ttukttak Kkaebi Securities Green Camping' for low-income families and free wedding support for vulnerable groups.
