Selection of New Employees for 10 Affiliates Including Department Stores and Hotels
Recruitment Method to Secure Practical Talent... Applications Close on the 30th

On the 17th, Lotte announced that starting with the June recruitment of new employees, it will introduce the 'I’M' screening process to secure practical talent.

The I’M recruitment system focuses on evaluating applicants' job performance abilities, passion, and vision. It will be utilized for hiring in job categories where practical skills are highly important, such as research and development (R&D), data, marketing, and design.

"No Academic Background, Specs, or Nationality Checks"... Lotte Introduces 'I AM' Recruitment Process

In this June I’M screening, new employees will be selected for 10 affiliates including Lotte Department Store, Lotte Hotel, and Lotte Innovate, with applications accepted through the Lotte recruitment website until the 30th of this month.

The recruitment process consists of ‘Story Review → On-site Audition → Internship Program,’ excluding quantitative factors and focusing on evaluating job performance capabilities. In the Story Review, applicants’ job experience is assessed based on the portfolio they submit. Applicants must submit a portfolio containing their experiences, skills, and strengths related to the job when applying. The portfolio can be presented in any format, such as videos or PPTs, to best showcase the applicant.

During the On-site Audition, job competencies are verified more deeply through assignments. The assignments are disclosed on the day of the audition to ensure that the extent of the applicant’s own effort in solving the task can be accurately assessed. The audition evaluates applicants’ job skills primarily through preparing materials and presentations within the given time.

The evaluation panel verifying applicants’ job competencies consists of employees with professional expertise at the managerial level or higher. The panel, composed of about 50 members, held a workshop before the screening began to finalize core competencies and evaluation criteria for each job.

Through the I’M screening, Lotte added a specialized internship program by job category to help practical talents selected raise their job skills to the next level before being assigned to actual work. The internship program includes mentoring with job experts and collaborative projects with practitioners. Final acceptance is determined after completing a 4-8 week internship program depending on the job.

Additionally, 14 affiliates including Lotte Innovate, Lotte Biologics, Lotte Wellfood, and Lotte Mart have collectively started ‘predictable rolling recruitment’ from the 15th of this month. Predictable rolling recruitment is an integrated new employee recruitment system for Lotte Group, conducted simultaneously in March, June, September, and December by aligning recruitment schedules across affiliates. Lotte introduced this system this year to eliminate the inconvenience of applicants having to frequently check recruitment announcements by allowing them to anticipate recruitment periods.

Meanwhile, Lotte operates an internship program for foreign students to secure global talent. The program targets foreign students who wish to work at Lotte after graduating from domestic universities. Successful candidates receive work visas and can reside in Korea. The newly introduced I’M screening is also open to applicants regardless of nationality.

A Lotte official said, “We are introducing the ‘I’M screening’ for applicants who have excellent job skills but have not had the opportunity to prove their abilities due to other conditions,” adding, “This will increase recruitment diversity and especially help secure talents with job expertise.”
