Dexter Studio showcased its all-in-one content production system and excellence in VFX projects locally in Taiwan, diversifying its overseas network expansion routes.
Content specialist Dexter Studio announced on the 17th that it gave a presentation at the VFX Forum hosted by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA). The company was the sole speaker invited among global studios, with over 120 local content industry stakeholders attending, demonstrating strong local interest in K-VFX and content.
At the event held in Taipei on the 12th of this month, CSO Director Kim Hye-jin and Head of Production Management and VFX Supervisor Jin Jong-hyun served as presenters. They respectively discussed ▲ presenting a business model as a comprehensive content production company, sharing the company’s strengths and business strategies, and introducing cases of participation in international projects ▲ and the VFX research on the film The Moon and the Netflix original series Parasyte: The Grey. A panel talk followed, attended by representatives from Taiwanese media groups and VFX companies. During the discussion session with invited industry experts, opinions were exchanged on Dexter Studio’s future strategies and prospects for collaboration between Taiwan and Korea.
Dexter Studio and TAICCA have worked together through continuous exchanges to promote mutual development of the content industry. Just two months after the Taiwanese side visited the company in October last year to share trends and visions, they signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue joint investment and production cooperation in video content and strategies for global expansion.
A TAICCA official stated, “We wanted to share Dexter Studio’s know-how, which has grown through executing global projects, with Taiwan’s content industry professionals,” adding, “We will use this leading Asian company as a successful case study to promote the development of Taiwan’s cultural content industry.”
Jin Jong-hyun said, “According to the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), Korean content accounted for 85.5% of viewership in Taiwan’s OTT market as of 2022,” and added, “As markets worldwide?including Asia, Europe, and North America?focus on Korean IP, lively discussions took place during the panel talk and dialogue.” He further explained, “It was a meaningful occasion that expanded discourse from the current status of VFX industries in each region to development challenges and directions.”
Director Kim Hye-jin also shared, “Visiting Taiwan in person made me feel the high level of interest in Korean content and our company,” and said, “Beyond introducing our company pipeline and projects, we were able to discuss the future direction of the Asian VFX industry together.” She added, “We will actively seek opportunities to create synergy and continue smooth networking.”
