Gwanak-gu to Promote 2024 Gwanak-style Good Landlord Support Project

Certificate Issued to Good Landlords... 50% Discount on Public Parking Lots and Gwanak-gu Office Parking Fees, Good Store Signboard Awarded

Gwanak-gu to Promote 2024 Gwanak-style Good Landlord Support Project

Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is promoting the "Good Landlord Support Project" again this year to help local tenant small business owners overcome the crisis caused by the ongoing economic downturn.

So far, the district has collaborated with Seoul City to support landlords who reduced rents by covering repair costs, electrical safety inspections, and providing quarantine supplies for 37 commercial buildings in 2020. From 2021 to 2022, up to 1 million KRW in mobile Gwanak Love Gift Certificates were given to 87 landlords based on the amount of rent reduction. A total of 124 landlords participated, receiving rent reduction benefits amounting to 840 million KRW.

Additionally, since 2022, alongside the Seoul-type Good Landlord Support Project, the Gwanak-type Good Landlord Support Project has been implemented simultaneously to provide more benefits. Ten landlords who reduced rents were issued Good Store plaques and certificates, and received a 50% discount on fees at Gwanak-gu Office and local public parking lots.

As the sales decline and rent burden for tenant merchants continue due to the ongoing economic downturn, the district is encouraging local commercial landlords to participate in the Good Landlord movement by promoting the Gwanak-type Good Landlord Support Project again this year.

The support targets landlords who reduce rent by 20% or more for at least six months compared to the previous year or previous quarter average rent, or who have frozen rent for over five years for small business tenants.

Landlords wishing to apply can check the project details posted on the Gwanak-gu Office main website (News & Notices → Announcements), fill out the application form, and submit it by visiting or mailing it to the Regional Commercial Revitalization Division on the 4th floor of Gwanak-gu Office.

For more detailed information about the Gwanak-type Good Landlord Support Project, please contact the district’s Regional Commercial Revitalization Division.

Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, “I sincerely thank the good landlords who voluntarily participate in rent reductions during these difficult economic times.” He added, “We will continue to make every effort to discover policies that small business owners in the district can feel and to ensure that the local economy grows through mutual coexistence.”
