Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Opens Applications for 'Humanities Documentary Video Contest'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Council announced on the 17th that they will accept applications for the 'Humanities Documentary Video Contest' until the 8th of next month. This project aims to produce and promote video content familiar to the public that conveys the humanities value embedded in local cultural heritage, unique cultures, and figures.
Last year, proposals featuring various humanities resources such as local independence activists, migrant women, artists, and public bathhouses were selected. All were produced as documentaries and received favorable reviews from judges and audiences alike.
This year, twenty proposals will be selected and supported. Anyone, including individuals, groups, emerging and established creators, and video production-related corporations, can submit a documentary production proposal of 20 to 30 minutes on the theme of humanities resources. Selected applicants will receive 15 million KRW in production costs and two expert consultations. Completed works will also have the opportunity to be showcased at the November 'Humanities Documentary Film Festival' and on television channels.
A Ministry of Culture official explained, "Scores will be assigned based on understanding (20 points), creativity (30 points), completeness (20 points), feasibility (20 points), and dissemination potential (10 points)."
The application form can be downloaded from the Korea Arts Council website. Completed documents should be submitted via email. For more details, please refer to the Korea Arts Council website.
