The Israeli military announced that it will halt military operations during the daytime in certain southern areas of the Gaza Strip to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.
On the 16th (local time), according to AFP and Reuters, the Israeli military issued a statement saying it will "tactically suspend military activities" during daytime hours in specific zones.
The Israeli military explained, "The localized and tactical suspension of military activities for humanitarian purposes will be implemented daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m."
The areas where military activities will be suspended include the route from the Kerem Shalom crossing at the southern border of Israel to Salah al-Din Road, a major north-south road through the Gaza Strip, and the area north of it. The Israeli military added that military operations in these zones will be halted until further notice.
