Lotte Energy Materia Unveils High-End Copper Foil to the Public for the First Time at 'InterBattery Europe'

Accelerating Entry into European Market... Showcasing Technology for Solid-State Battery Copper Foils
CEO Kim Yeonseop: "Actively Promoting Product Excellence to Expand Market Share"

On the 16th, Lotte Energy Materials, which was launched last year, announced that it will participate for the first time in the '2nd InterBattery Europe 2024.'

'InterBattery Europe' is a battery event jointly hosted by the Korea Battery Industry Association, COEX, and KOTRA in Munich, Germany. This year, it will be held from the 19th to the 21st. It takes place at the same venue during 'The Smarter E Europe,' the largest eco-friendly energy exhibition in Europe.

Visitors to Lotte Energy Materials can see through an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display why high-end copper foil is essential for improving energy density as global battery companies introduce next-generation battery innovation processes.

As the only company in the industry to simultaneously satisfy ultra-thin, high-strength, and high-elongation requirements, visitors can verify the competitiveness and production process of high-end copper foil and see the actual high-end copper foil products unveiled to the public for the first time.

Additionally, Lotte Energy Materials' unique technology for producing copper foil continuously can be viewed in three dimensions through a device called an infinity mirror. The infinity mirror is a device that creates an infinitely repeating reflection effect using two or more reflective surfaces.

In the Lotte brand zone, which encompasses the battery material business of the Lotte chemical group, visitors can see lithium-ion battery materials such as HDPE separator materials from Lotte Chemical and Lotte Infracell, aluminum foil, copper foil, electrolyte organic solvents, as well as battery modules, packs, and electric vehicle chargers. Through this, the Lotte chemical group also presented its goal to establish a core value chain for secondary battery materials and achieve sales of 7 trillion won by 2030.

Visitors can also check out sulfide-based solid electrolytes, silicon anode active materials, LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cathode active materials, and copper foil for all-solid-state batteries, all of which are being researched and developed by Lotte Energy Materials.

Kim Yeon-seop, CEO of Lotte Energy Materials, said, "This InterBattery Europe exhibition is a showcase presenting our high-end copper foil made with our differentiated technology," adding, "We will actively promote the excellence of our products to global customers preparing for next-generation batteries and expand our market share in the high-end segment."

Lotte Energy Materials conducted a roadshow targeting emerging battery companies in Europe during the first quarter of this year. They carried out marketing activities for high-end hybrid copper foil to proactively respond to customer demand.
