"No One to Choose"... Both US Presidential Candidates Are 'Worst Ever' Unpopular

PuriSearch, US Bipartisan Presidential Candidate Preference Poll

One in four Americans dislike both U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, according to a survey. This U.S. presidential election has truly become an election with no one to vote for.

"No One to Choose"... Both US Presidential Candidates Are 'Worst Ever' Unpopular

On the 15th (local time), a Pew Research survey conducted from the 13th to the 19th of last month with 8,638 American adults found that 25% of respondents expressed dislike for both President Biden and former President Trump. Pew Research stated, "This is the highest unfavorable rating for candidates from both parties among the 10 presidential elections dating back to 1988."

Especially since the Biden-Trump matchup is not the first, the psychological shift among voters is even more pronounced. In 2020, when the two first faced off, only 13% said they disliked both candidates. In four years, the unfavorable ratings for candidates from both parties have nearly doubled.

Previously, in 2016, when former President Trump and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ran as the Republican and Democratic candidates respectively, the unfavorable rating for both candidates was 20%, which was the highest on record at that time.

The survey also found that 34% of respondents liked President Biden but disliked former President Trump, while 36% liked former President Trump but disliked President Biden.

According to a recent survey by ABC News and Ipsos, 67% of respondents who dislike both candidates said that former President Trump should withdraw from the race following his guilty verdict.
